NATTA Pokhara chapter gets new committee

Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) Western Regional Association Pokhara held its 17th AGM and 7th Convention election for the year   2012-2014 for the executive committee. Mr. Kedar Nath Sharma has been elected unanimously for the post of President of NATTA Regional Association Pokhara. 

Mr. Santosh Pokharel, Mr. Pomnarayan Shrestha and Dilli Prasad Gautam have been elected as new first vice president, second vice president and general secretary respectively of the committee. Likewise, Mrs. Sangita Paudel bagged the position of the secretary and Mr. Jhabilal Adhikari was announced as treasurer. Similarly Mr. Harka Bahadur Gurung, Mr. Sanjaya Kanta Sigdel, Mr. Prem Subedi, Mr.  Subas Bhandari, Mr. Bijaya Gurung, Mr. Rishi Ram Paudel and Mr. Kishor Dahal were elected as the executive members.


NATTA Central President Mr. Pavitra Kumar Karki inaugurated the 17th Annual General Meeting and 7th Convention of the Regional Association on Friday amid a function.  Speaking at the function, Mr. Karki stressed the unity of regional as well as NATTA central committee on the genuine issues for the development of overall tourism sector.

Similarly, DIG Mr. Rajendra Singh Bhandari, Acting CDO Mr. Ishwari Prasad Regmee, founder president of NATTA Pokhara chapter Mr. Krishna Prasad Bastaula, among others' also expressed their views in the program.


NATTAs joint meeting held


After getting the new body in Western Regional Association of NATTA Pokhara, NATTA Central Committee, Eastern Regional Association Kakadvitta and Western Regional Association Pokhara conducted a joint meeting at the Lakeside-based Hotel Landmark.


All the speakers of the meetings have expressed to search the new ground for the sake of unity among the central as well as regional associations of NATTA.


Specially, Pokhara NATTA representatives said that there is the need to create the conducive environment for the sake of smooth development of tourism in the nation. The meeting focused on the tourist bus operation en route Pokhara-Bhairahawa-Pokhara, air connectivity of the Pokhara-Bhairahawa-Pokhara, the proposed USD 10 city entrance for the tourists of Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City and irregularity of domestic airlines in the Pokhara.


NATTA Central President Mr. Pavitra Kumar Karki assured that NATTA Central Committee would cooperate in solving the different problems in the tourism sector.

NATTA Pokhara office bearers and Board members, NATTA central Second President Mr. Sambhuraj Pathak, Secretary General Mr. Achyut Guragain, Treasurer Mr. Shantosh Gautam and Executive Board members and President Mr. Tara Bastaula and vice president Mr. Bhupal Raj Shrestha from Eastern Regional Association Kakadvitta had also attended the meeting.  


NATTA officials also attended a picnic organized by the NATTA Pokhara on 20th January in Astham village some ten kilometers far from Pokhara, Lake City.


NATTA 2nd VP attends LVY 2012


Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) second vice president Mr. Shambhu Raj Pathak attended the function of Lumbini Visit Year (LVY) 2012 on January 14 in Lumbini, birth place of Lord Buddha.


The LVY 2012 was inaugurated by President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav amid a function to enhance the promotion of Lumbini as the national campaign following the completion of Visit Nepal Year 2011.


Nepal is expecting more numbers of religious tourists in the birthplace of Lord Buddha.



NATTA CEO at US-Nepal chamber of commerce and industry


Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Prof. Dr. Hari Sarmah participated in a meeting organized by the US-Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

 

The meeting focused on how to enhance the industrial development and mutual relations between the two friendly countries- Nepal and US through TIFA.

 

Minister vows to purchase new aircraft for NAC

NATTA President Mr. Pravitra Kumar Karki and other tourism sector entrepreneurs called on Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Mr. Lokendra Bista at the Ministry recently.

During the meeting, entrepreneurs expressed their concern over the delaying in the fulfillment of the CEO of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). They said that due to this vacancy NTB would be badly affected. In response, Minister Bista assured that the vacancy at NTB would be fulfilled at the earliest. The other participants were representatives from Hotel Association Nepal, Trekking Agencies of Association of Nepal (TAAN), and Nepal Association of Rafting Agents (NARA), CEO NATTA Prof. Dr. Hari Sarmah had also accompanied the delegation.
