NATTA and HAN Executive Committee met for a joint meeting at NATTA Secretariat on Sunday, the 20th November. The HAN delegation was led by newly elected President Mr. Amar Man Shakya who was accorded a warm welcome by NATTA President Mr. Madhu Sudan Acharya. Speaking on the occasion both the Presidents agreed to go together for further and future accomplishments and raise the image of Nepalese tourism in the international market. General Secretary of HAN Mr. Binayak Shah also spoke and hinted on the discriminatory rates publicized by various hotels to foreign agents and local agents. This, he said, has created an unhealthy competition in the market and we need to clean the situation. NATTA Jt. Treasurer pointed out at the existing disparity in Star ratings. All participants in the meeting emphasized on the coordination among NATTA/HAN and NTB. NATTA President Mr. Acharya projected the target of enhancing the number of visitors to to Nepal to 1.2 million by 2017. He also requested HAN to lobby with the GON to hold Int’l Travel Mart on regular basis in Nepal. Secretary General Mr. Bhim Prasad Panta gave the vote of thanks to all in the meeting for their important remarks and opinions.
