NATTA Executive Members led by President Mr. Madhusudan Acharya experienced a ride of cable car in the Kathmandu Valley on August 19, 2016 upon the invitation and hospitality by Mr. Chandra Dhakal, Chairman of Chandragiri Hills Pvt. Ltd. Stationed at the altitude of 1200 meters from sea level at the foot of Chandragiri hill in the south western rim of the Kathmandu Valley, the cable car carries the passengers up to 2,571 meters on the top of the hill offering a panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley in just fourteen minutes incredible ride. Swinging in a small enclosed gondola along the rope uphill takes away breath for a moment just to enjoy the fabulous experience seasoned with the view of the valley and green forest underneath.
A beautiful temple of Lord Shiva perches atop commanding the site with religious glory in addition to the chilly and breezy atmosphere opening a vista to marvelous views of the hills, vales and small hamlets on the other side. Restaurant, play ground for kids and conference hall add value to the hilltop not only with facilities but also extend the stay longer in more romantic manner. A luxurious café at the base station along with giveaway stall tempts every visitor to have an additional taste.
The Cable car has given a value addition in the array of products in Nepal. Though it is not a new venture (the first cable car was introduced one and half decades ago in Chitwan to connect Kurintar and Manakamana temple over and across Trishuli River), it has added new feature and brought cable car in the capital city with hospitality and MICE facilities together. It is believed that this new product will add the length of stay for the foreigners and new escape for the city dwellers from hustle and bustle.
