NATTA has been listed as a Founder Member of International Mountain Tourism Alliance (IMTA) China for NATTA’s concerns shown towards poverty alleviation in the Trans- Himalayan Zones of the country through Tourism and also on recommendations of CNTA. The Establishment Ceremony of IMTA and its First General Assembly was held in Xing Yi City of Guizhou Province of PR China from 18th through 26th September, 2016. President Acharya was invited to participate where he presented papers on various aspects of Nepal Tourism and spoke on issues of the economical benefits of Mountain tourism especially in the context of mountainous country like Nepal. The assembly also approved the Statute of IMTA besides forming a Council in which NATTA is given a very prestigious position. The Assembly was graced by Dominique de Villepin- Former French Prime Minister, Shao Qiwei- Former Chairman of CNTA, He Yefei- Former Dy. Minister of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and Francesco Frangialli – Hony. Secretary General of UNWTO. Tourism leaders from various countries viz., Nepal, Thailand, France, European Association of Mountain Area and India were invited to join the assembly.
