A joint meeting of the NATTA Advisors, Past Presidents, Executive Board and members of NATTA Tour & Transport Sub-Committee was held on 22nd November’15 to reflect on the current crisis of fuel and its meagre supply due to which almost 80% of the transports providing service to the tourists have come almost to a standstill. Tourism has already suffered a lot during the aftermath of the earthquake, and in addition to that due to the ‘blockage’ and the Madhesh movement , more than 85% of the foreign tourists have cancelled their ‘holidays’ in Nepal during this autumn.
This has made the entrepreneurs quite disheartened. They’re not even prepared to lure the potential visitors owing to ‘No Supply’ of required fuel to serve the tourists. The meeting held decided to issue a press release, meet the concerned govt. authorities and apprise them of the tourism industry about to crumble and also compile an inventory of the average need of the ‘fuel’ required to serve the tourists with their bookings for the months: December & January,2016.
