NATTA Officials at NTB celebration

Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) President Mr. Arjun Prasad Sharma and other office bearers of the NATTA board along with Executive members attended the 13th anniversary of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) held recently in Kathmandu.
President Mr. Arjun Prasad Sharma
NTB, a model of public-private partnership endeavor which looks after tourism sector, has been making tie up with tourism stakeholders since it was established in 1999. The then Department of Tourism was changed into the semi-government organization to meet the new challenges and opportunities as well as to foster the development of the tourism in the country.
However, vacancy of the Chief Executive Officer, top most post of the board, has been hampering the major tourism activities since November 1 as immediate past CEO Prachanda Man Shrestha retired after completing his regular tenure of four years in NTB.
The tourism industry has been keenly looking forward to the appointment of CEO at the earliest as the nation is observing the ongoing national campaign- Nepal Tourism Year 2011 and is upholding a newer campaign Lumbini Visit year 2012.
