Mr. Kumar Mani Thapaliya has been a prominent figure in Nepal’s tourism sector since the early 2000s, establishing himself as one of the most respected voices in the industry. He is currently serving as the President of the Nepal Association of Tour & Travel Agents (2024–2026), Board Member of the Nepal Tourism Board (since 2025), and Chief Executive Officer of Precious Travels & Tours (since 2010). Over the years, he has successfully combined institutional leadership with professional expertise to advance Nepal’s tourism landscape, focusing on capacity building, policy reform, and international collaboration. His active role in drafting the Tourism Policy 2081, along with his consistent advocacy for an ethical, sustainable, and business-friendly tourism environment, underscores his long-term commitment to strengthening Nepal’s position as a premier global destination.
Throughout his career, Mr. Thapaliya has championed international partnerships to promote Nepal as a premier global destination. He has been instrumental in developing collaboration with renowned International Tourism Associations, including ABTO Bhutan, IATO India, ABTO India, UFTAA, UMTA Myanmar, IMTA China, and TOAB Bangladesh. These strategic alliances have helped expand Nepal’s visibility on the world stage, creating new opportunities for cooperation, cultural exchange, and joint promotion across Asia and beyond.
Recognized for his vision, diplomatic approach, and tireless advocacy, Mr. Thapaliya has consistently worked to align Nepal’s tourism with global standards while preserving its cultural and natural uniqueness. His remarkable service and dedication make him a most deserving recipient of the Tourism Excellence Award 2025.
