President DB Limbu of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), has been appointed as newcoordinator for Joint Tourism Coordination Committee (JTCC). Outgoing coordinator Mr. Ramesh Prasad Dhamala, President of Trekking Agencies´ Association of Nepal (TAAN), handed over the responsibility of JTCC to Mr. Limbu on Wednesday,19th November’14. Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Mr. Suresh Man Shrestha handed over minute-book of JTCC to President Mr. D.B Limbu amid a function held at Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). Speaking at the program, President Mr. Limbu assured to givecontinuity to the works initiated by the outgoing coordinator and will work in coordination with all tourism associations that areunder JTCC. Similarly, outgoing coordinator Mr. Ramesh Dhamala thanked government officials, staffers of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), tourism entrepreneurs, and media persons, for their support and cooperation. Mr. Dhamala also drew the attention of Tourism Secretary Mr. Shrestha, who is also the Chairman of NepalTourism Board (NTB), toward number of issues related to the tourism industry like proper management of Tribhuvan International Airport and allowing tourism enterprises in Thamel to operate round the clock. JTCC is a common forum of more than 40 tourism related associations. As per the understanding, the committee rotates its leadership among member organizations every six months.
