The 22nd Annual General Meeting of NATTA Western Regional Association was held in Pokhara on 2073 BS Falgun 16th corresponding to 27th February, 2016. The Inaugural Session of the AGM founded on the theme: Production, Promotion & Participation was held in the morning and was participated in by high level government officials, tourism dignitaries and delegates from NATTA Central Association, NATTA Far Western Regional Association, NATTA Eastern Regional Association and NATTA Palpa Chapter. Mrs. Yam Kumari Khatiwada Baskota, Area Administrator (Pokhara) was the Chief Guest and NATTA Central Committee President Mr. Madhu Sudan Acharya was accorded the honor of Special Guest on the occasion. Immediately after the presentation of Annual Report by General Secretary Mr. Subhas Bhandari, NATTA President (Western Region) delivered his speech hinting on the issues of resentment felt by NATTA members in general. The issues included- the soaring Bank interests, confusing Tax regulations, definition of tourists in the govt. regulations, Management of Tourist Bus Park etc. Mr. Hari Sharma Gaire, Past President and currently the Advisor of NATTA WR Association urged the government to formulate regulations to protect the investment of private sector in tourism which seems to be in peril. Chief Guest Mrs. Yam Kumari, speaking on the occasion stressed on the need of establishment of National Entrepreneurs Forum in Pokhara and assured the travel fraternity that she herself is going to initiate the formulation in the near future. The Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Tourism Board Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi pointed out the changing trends in tourism and requested the tourism stakeholders to move according to the current trends.
Special Guest Mr. Madhu Sudan Acharya opined that NATTA Pokhara has attained its youthhood entering into the 22nd year of its establishment. He too said that the rising bank interests were posing threats to the investors and the taxation in the country was also not business friendly. President Acharya proposed that the air connectivity from Kathmandu to Pokhara needs to be extended to Bhairahawa and vice-versa.
NATTA Western Regional Association also released a Souvenir GANTABYA on the occasion to commemorate the 22nd AGM.
The inaugural session was followed by close-session. Later in the evening the delegates were whisked away to Hemjakot for an overnight stay under the Home Stay Program initiated by the locals. The evening was full of fun, music, dances and dinner.
