The Executive Committee of NATTA, led by IPP Mr. CN Pandey, congratulated the newly appointed Dr. Dhananjaya Regmi, the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Board.
While at the meeting, NATTA requested NTB to emphasize on international promotion.
Mr. CN Pandey advised that Nepal Tourism Board should be digitalized and it should encourage and promote the best products of every province of Nepal. He also requested NTB to emphasize on tourism promotion of Nepal at international level instead of building monasteries and temples.
Likewise Senior Vice President Mr. Binay Basnet also requested NTB to incorporate NATTA’s several promotional programs in NTB’s yearly plan of action earmarking the necessary budget required to accomplish them.
Dr. Regmi, on the meet, urged the associations to address the matters that will give influence on a long term basis. He assured that the workings and modality will be positively seen in the entire tourism sector of Nepal. He also mentioned that NTB would give importance to the development of new tourist destinations across the country especially while forming a new budget.
The meeting had the presence of NATTA Executive members NATTA. While President Mr. Achyut Guragain due to his inescapable matter couldn’t be on the day had met Dr. Regmi earlier on the previous day, 30th January and discussed on the current scenario of the tourism industry and joint promotions to be accomplished together with NTB and NATTA.
The government on 28th January appointed Dr. Dhananjay Regmi as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Tourism Board. As Dr. Regmi starts off his four-year tenure, he has the challenge to make the ambitious Visit Nepal Year 2020 campaign a success.
A selection panel led by Kedar Bahadur Adhikari, the Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, unanimously appointed him to the position.
