In making the Ghoda Ghodi Lake Area (GLA) more competent, qualitative and to promote this part of Province 7 as the main tourism destination, an Interaction Program was held at Hotel Lake Palace, Ghodaghodi Lake, Kailali on 1st February 2020. The program was organized by Comprehensive Ghoda Ghodi Lake and Tourism Development Board in the presence of the tourism stakeholders and tourism dignitaries.
As Tourism Development Master Plan is being developed for sustainable development and conservation of the lake, the outline of the program was also in collecting suggestions from Travel agents/tour operators of different Provinces in incorporating the GLA destination in their tour/travel packages that will be the support on the promotion of the destination.
A delegation from NATTA had participated in the Interaction program. NATTA Joint Treasurer Ms. Yubika Bhandari, Executive Member Ms. Laxmi Karki Adhikari presented their ways of action. Likewise, NATTA Members Mr. Amar B. Shahi, Raikaa Travel & Tours, Mr. Uttam Kumar Tripathi, Footmark Travel & Adventure and Mr. Surbir Thapa – Sports Tour & Travels were on the NATTA Delegation.
The Ghodaghodi Lake Area has been drawing an increasing number of domestic and foreign tourists. Endorsed by Department of National Park and Wildlife Conservation and identified by Birdlife International, GhodaGhodi Lake Area is a Ramsar site in western Nepal. The area is an Important Bird and Biodiversity Area and has been recognized as one of the coveted destinations out of hundred for Visit Nepal Year 2020 promotion.
