Senior Vice President and Coordinator of Tour, Heritage and Culture Committee Mr. Achyut Sharma Guragain called for a meeting to discuss on the current issues of the heritage sites with the members of Heritage Committee and representatives from different municipalities. The meeting with the members of the Heritage Committee primarily discussed in the issues to be solved such as cleanliness on heritage sites, follow up on Heritage Reconstruction and Hassles faced by tour operators during sightseeing. The meeting decided to pressurize the concerned metropolises to adopt measures in eradication of the raised issues that would thereby help in enhancing the attractiveness of the sites.
As Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) Nepal, had sent a letter asking for the transparency of billing of Air Ticketing without having any other additional charges than the actual Airfare by the travel agents/GSA. This created the trouble among the ticketing agents for their daily business. On this matter, a discussion was held with NATTA Past President Council and NATTA Members as this might be quiet challenging to the travel agents in the tourism industry. A delegation of tourism entrepreneurs from NATTA Province No. 4, Gandaki have concluded their promotional tour Sales Mission in India which started from July 5th -10th in the cities of India; Hyderabad and Bangalore. The 16 members' delegation had the presence of NATTA Province Board, members of NATTA and Nepal Tourism Board Official. The Sales Mission program had the Business to Business Session with the tour operators of the visited cities with the presence of Media. This promotional tour which was organized in coordination with Nepal Tourism Board promoted and invited all the Indian tourists to visit Nepal and mainly the touristic town Pokhara. Province No.4 Gandaki State Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, Mr. Kiran Gurung had organized a farewell ceremony to the delegation with his best wishes before the start of the promotional tour.

Those portals have been issuing tickets and facilitating the individuals as the normal travel agencies deliver. As a part of Skill Development Training to the tourism personnel's, NATTA organized a one day Digital Marketing Training in coordination with Nepal Tourism Board in all the Provinces of NATTA. The trainings were organized in assistance with a well-known Digital Marketing Specialists to make the Nepalese tourism industrialist become familiar with current knowledge and its trends in digital. Delegation of NATTA visited Nepal Rastra Bank, Monetary Division, Pulchowk on 30th June 2019 to have discussion on upcoming monetary policies for fiscal year 2076/77. Nepalese Embassy from India had circulated to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to all the Nepalese nationals wishing to travel to foreign countries via India. As this had been done for the secured reasons of travel. But this led trouble to the luxury travelers for their smooth travel as they had to go through the long process to have the NOC. In regard to the discussion and request of local municipality taxes, Vice President Mrs. Sangita Jirel Bade and CEO Mr. Jeevraj Ghimire visited the office of Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan Office, Mrs. Hariprabha Khadgi Shrestha on 18th June 2019. From our previous meetings with Kathmandu Metropolitan Office, it was already agreed that the tax will be collected only from the fiscal year 2072/73. However the other Metropolitan cities had been collecting taxes before the year of 72/73. Madam Hariprabha Shrestha informed NATTA Delegation that Kathmandu Metropolitan Office has sent a letter to all the Metropolitan cities making the base year 72/73 and collect from those date for IATA and Non IATA agents.
NATTA and Nepal Clearing House (NCHL) signed a MOU today, 14th June 2019 at NATTA Secretariat. The MOU is in regard to the connectIPS e-Payment system which is a single payment channel. NCHL has started connectIPS e-Payment system as a single payment channel for the end users to initiate their payments from alternate channels of mobile, web or payment gateway/processor (directly integrated with service provider’s website). Here, the transactions are processed directly through the bank accounts on real-time basis. Customers can link multiple bank accounts within connectIPS and select the one at the time of payment. This has been very useful for the customers for their payments due to convenience and to the services providers like travel agents/ airlines/ aggregators to receive payments. In regard to regulate on the Modality of Working Procedure 2076 for operating the tourism service in Conservation Area, several meetings were held with tourism organizations as NATTA, TAAN, NMA, NARA at HAN Secretariat. The meeting also comprised a committee of Secretary General of five tourism organizations in chair of HAN for the further development of the modality. Nepal Government has recently began some Training Campaigns in purpose of elimination of unemployment. On this regard, Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security organized a meeting with private sectors of tourism in request of the cooperation of private sectors for the campaign. The idea is in preparing skilled and competitive manpower in accordance with the national and international market cooperating with different private sectors. Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) organized a Budget Preparatory Meeting for the preparation of upcoming fiscal 2076/77. The meeting had the participation of all the tourism related organizations and mainly focused on collecting feedback from the tourism organizations for upcoming budget. Several organizations requested to earmark the budget for tourism promotion, branding, training and marketing purposes. NATTA 1st Vice President Mr. Achyut Sharma Guragain participated and expressed NATTA say to be incorporated in the Budget of NTB. Mr. Guragain on behalf of NATTA also submitted the Budget Plan to NTB including regular annual programs of NATTA to be accomplished in coordination with NTB and allocate the required budget accordingly.
