Gianni Braizzi, a World Bank Consultant, discussed with Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) General Secretary Madhu Sudhan Acharya and Chief Executive Officer Prof. Dr. Hari Sarmah on September 8 at the NATTA Secretariat in Naxal. Mr. Braizzi raised the queries on the current challenges and opportunities in the tourism sector as well as solid west management, aviation sector especially stricken situation of Nepal Airlines Corporation, the national flag carrier. In response, General Secretor briefed him on the latest developments for the same.
A joint meeting of the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), Nepal Tourist Service, Nepal Private Tourist Vehicle Association and Nepal Tourist Vehicle Association decided to increase the transport rate for the tourist vehicles. The new fare has been increased in view of the increase the in the cost of services and goods. The new fare is effective from September 1. The hard copy of the fare-book will be made available on complementary basis at NATTA Secretariat in Goma Ganesh, Naxal within a week or so.

Nepal’s tourism industry will pull out all the stops to make tourists feel valued on Tuesday on the occasion of the 32nd World Tourism Day. The first three foreign visitors disembarking at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) will be treated to a grand welcome and presented gifts. he number of overland visitors from India has reached 520,522 in 2010, a jump of 74 percent from 2009. This was revealed by a survey conducted by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) entitled "Indian Visitors by Land 2010".The survey, the second in the series, shows that a total of 674,608 tourists entered Nepal over surface routes from India in 2010. Considering that Nepal Tourism Statistics 2010 shows 154,086 third-country tourists entering Nepal by land in 2010, the survey has concluded that 520,522 Indian tourists visited Nepal. The number of Indian overland tourists visiting Nepal in 2009 amounted to 298,821.The survey shows that the highest number of Indian tourists entered Nepal from the Belhiya point (Bhairahawa). Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has approved the membership request of the Aviation International Travel and Tours Pvt Ltd, Everest Miracle Travels and Tours and Shangri-la Tourism and Hotel Training Centre (P) Ltd. In one of the latest Board meetings at NATTA Secretariat, President Mr. Arjun Prasad Sharma awarded the certificate to the representatives of the concerning agencies.
