On the occasion, President Limbu said that NTB should work in accordance with the spirit and principles of Public Private Partnership taking into account the ‘say’ of the private sector associations and enterprises. NTB should focus on promoting Nepal as a destination in the most potential source markets, he added.

A meeting was held with DG and Director of Internal Revenue Department on 3rd December 2015, Thursday led by Mr. C. N Pandey , NATTA 2nd Vice President and Coordinator for Tax and Revenue Subcommittee in regard to the waiving of uncollected VAT on sightseeing till 2069-2070 B.S. Mr. Ashok Pokhrel, Mr. Madhusudan Acharya, Mr. Manohar Rana, Mr. Bishwesh Shrestha, and Mr. Shikher Prasai were present at the meeting. A joint meeting on the same agenda has been slated for next week on Monday.
The fifth meeting of the SAARC Working Group on Tourism was successfully organized by SAARC in conjunction with the Government of India, Ministry of Tourism on Nov 25-26 2015 at New Delhi, after a long gap of previous meeting organized by Nepal in 2006. This Program was hosted by Mr. Vinod Zutshi (Secretary Ministry of Tourism). Delegates from Government and private sectors of all SAARC countries had participated. NATTA' exhibiting its solidarity with Nepali Cine Artists’ National Awareness Campaign against the ongoing blockade at the entry points in India - Nepal Border joined a ’Protest Rally’ on 24th Novemeber’15, with NATTA Banner & Plycards. The Rally went around the core areas of the city upholding the National Flag. The main objective of the rally was to create awareness among the people about the Madhesh movement and help maintain peace and harmony. It also urged the government to solve the Madhesh issue and ease the supply of essential needs of the people the soonest possible.
A joint meeting of the NATTA Advisors, Past Presidents, Executive Board and members of NATTA Tour & Transport Sub-Committee was held on 22nd November’15 to reflect on the current crisis of fuel and its meagre supply due to which almost 80% of the transports providing service to the tourists have come almost to a standstill. Tourism has already suffered a lot during the aftermath of the earthquake, and in addition to that due to the ‘blockage’ and the Madhesh movement , more than 85% of the foreign tourists have cancelled their ‘holidays’ in Nepal during this autumn. “Destination Restoration and Motivation Seminar” organized by Samarth-NMDP— funded by UKAID- on November 20th, Friday as a step towards resurrecting the Tourism Industry by learning to create opportunities in the time of crisis. This event was part of providing training to tour operators, travel agents, trekking agencies, tourist hoteliers, government officials etc. in their business skills during crisis period. The programme was facilitated by social entrepreneur Anil Chitrakar, while the motivational speech was delivered by Ranjit Acharya on thinking out of the box and grabbing opportunities in the time of crisis and positive mindset and attitude. Later on the day, Dr David Beirman (an expert on tourism risk, crisis and recovery marketing) from University of Technology, Sydney Australia, made a presentation titled ‘Destination Restoration in Nepal – A World’s Best Practice Strategic Approach’. NATTA President Mr. D.B. Limbu, Secretary General Ms. Mihika Dhakhwa and CEO Prof. Dr. Hari Sarmah called on the office of the newly appointed Hon’ble Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Mr. Anand Prasad Poudel at his office in Singha Durbar on Monday, the 16th November, 2015. President Limbu greeted and congratulated Minister Poudel and handed over a memorandum stating that the Ministry should take necessary steps to organize Himalayan International Travel Mart in partnership with NATTA in Kathmandu and gather the support of the Government of Nepal to make it a great success. NATTA has also urged the Minister to start initiation from now by mobilizing all concerned.

A meeting was held on 3rd November 2015 at NATTA Secretariat to discuss regarding the notice received by IATA on the change in BSP Nepal Remittance frequency from "twice monthly' to "four times monthly" effective from 01 January 2016. At the present scenario with such a severe crisis in the country, the meeting decided to first meet with the Commercial Director of Nepal Airlines and to request to assist in postponing the date of change. In this regard, NATTA delegation met with Mr. Saroj Kasaju, Commercial Director of Nepal Airlines on 5th November at his office to discuss on this matter. It was then decided that a letter be sent to BARN requesting to postpone the implementation of weekly remittance payment by one year and make it effective from 1st January 2017. Great Himalaya Trails, in partnership with the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), currently hosted AdventureWeek Rebound Nepal. During this week, a group of 19 tour operators, journalists and travel influencers experienced the trails in Annapurna and Everest regions. Two itineraries, Everest & Annapurna/Chitwan were developed were developed for AdventureWeek Rebound Nepal and both itineraries explored Kathmandu and the surrounding valley at the start of their trips. The idea for AdventureWeek Rebound Nepal emerged after the April earthquake. Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) partnered with the Great Himalaya Trails with the goal of providing positive global media attention and storytelling around adventure travel opportunities in Nepal. The hope is that those stories will reach a wide and diverse audience of travelers to inspire them to book a trip to Nepal soon. Mr. Tomohira Koyama, Researcher and Advisor at the Embassy of Japan in Nepal accompanied by Mr. Rahish Shrestha, Economic Researcher visited NATTA Secretariat on Thursday, the 15th October, 2015 and met Secretary General Ms. Mihika Dhakhwa and CEO Prof. Dr. Hari Sarmah. His mission of visit had been to know how Nepalese tourism was carrying on in a situation of blockade of supplies in the recent days and what the plannings of Nepalese tourism stakeholders were to overcome this situation. NATTA officials explained that the current situation in tourism is all due to political reasons and soon the ways will open for tourism to revive.
