A Close Session Program on IATA BSP Remittance Cycle was organized by NATTA on Wednesday, the 02nd September, 2014 at Hotel Radisson from 1:30-5 p.m. Almost all the IATA Accredited members of NATTA attended the program. The purpose of the meeting was to decide on future BSP Remittance Cycle. Various opinions from the members were expressed on the matter. End of the program was followed by voting system to decide on the Remittance Cycle for 7 days, 10 days and 15 days simultaneously. With the votes of the members, the majority was for 15 days of Remittance Cycle. The opinions of the IATA agents on the remittance cycle from the close session will be proposed in the upcoming APJC meeting.

Thirty-member team comprising of the Executive Committee and the members of NATTA Western Regional Association, Pokhara set out for a five-day long Fam Trip to the Eastern Region of Nepal andvisited the major touristic destinations on 31st August, 2014. NATTA Pokhara has been visiting various places in Nepal in view of thedevelopment of Domestic Tourism every year since 2004. The NATTA group visited the places like Sauraha, Biratnagar, Chandragarhi, Pashupatinagar, Fikkal, Kanyam and Janakpur etc. NATTA Pokhara team had interactive meetings with local tourism stakeholders and other concerned bodies during their Fam Trip.

A delegation of NATTA comprising of Secretary Mr. Ramesh Thapa, President NATTA Eastern Regional Association Mr. Hem Raj Bastola (Tara ), NATTA Executive Members Mr. Binay Basnet, Mr. Chitra Bahadur Gurung visited the Secretariat of Airlines Owner's Association Nepal (AOAN) on 21st August last and discussed various issues pertaining to problems faced by agents. Some of the major issues discussed were granting ticket stock only to government registered ticketing agents, sale of air-tickets only through travel agents, no discrimination in commission, the provision of full refund in case of cancellation, at least six months prior information to agents regarding any hike in the ticket rates etc. AOAN has signaled affirmatively on the agendas discussed and has agreed to have joint meetings on regular basis.AOAN officials present in the meeting were General Secretary Mr. Suman Pandey, Executive Director Mr. K.K. Barma and Treasurer Mr. Rupesh Joshi.
Mr. Tomohiro Koyama, Researcher/Advisor at the Embassy of Japan in Nepal called on NATTA Secretariat on Wednesday, the 20th August last and held discussions with President Mr. D.B. NATTA delegation led by the President, Mr. D. B. Limbu met with the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Dr. Yubraj Khatiwada at his office on Monday, 4th August 2014. The meeting was held mainly to discuss regarding the payment of monthly BSP Link fees & annual fee of IATA to be paid in Nepalese currency locally by our members. Also discussed was the possibility of removing the dual currency system that has been existing in air ticketing. The Secretary General, Ms. Mihika Dhakhwa, explained the difficulty faced by our member agents to transact in dual currency (USD and NPR) for air ticketing and she also put forth the logic that the USD transaction is a minimal amount compared to the NPR transaction on airfares that is paid to IATA and therefore, such a nominal amount should not stand as a hurdle for ticketing agents.
