Government Officials, Diplomats, NTB officials and NATTA Members participated in the Hiking program organised to mark the International Mountain Tourism Day on 29th May 2022.
NATTA in association with International Mountain Tourism Alliance (IMTA) China organized a Hiking Program on the Sankhu-Nagarkot route. The destination has great potential being nearest to the valley with a beautiful panoramic view of the Himalayan range and pristine nature.
Participants gathered at NATTA Secretariat, Naxal and were sent off by the Proposed Ambassador of Nepal to China HE Mr. Bishnu Pukar Shrestha. At the starting point of the hiking at Salinadi, the Mayor of Sankharapur Municipality Mr. Ramesh Napit welcomed the participants. Mr. Napit shared that events like this will help to promote such a traditional and religious destination in tourism and that he will provide his unwaivered support in the future for the events which will be beneficial for the development of the locality.
After hiking and reaching Nagarkot, a short formal program was organised to conclude the program. The program was graced by the Proposed Ambassador of Nepal to China HE Mr. Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, Chief of Valley Tourism Office, Mr. Tanka Prasad Bhattarai, CEO of Nepal Tourism Board Dr. Dhananjay Regmi, Director of China Culture Centre in Nepal Ms. Xiao Jiang, Presidents of Tourism Associations, NATTA Past Presidents, Members and its associates. The program had more than sixty participants.
Also, the International Mountain Tourism Day activity, commissioned by International Mountain Tourism Alliance (IMTA), kicked off online on the 27th of May and continued until the 29th of May in China. The events were held both on and offline globally. The events connected IMTA members, destination institutions and agencies, enterprises, and experts across five continents. Delegates and guests from more than 30 countries carried out multi-dimensional, multi-level and diverse cloud interactions around the theme and three major topics to discuss, built and share the bright future of mountain tourism.
NATTA President Mr. Ramesh Thapa also shared a special video message during the Main Event Program. NATTA has been a founding member of the International Mountain Tourism Alliance (IMTA), which resides in the Guiyang City of China’s Guizhou Province.
