Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has demanded for the growth of the aviation sector for the development of tourism sector in the country. A delegation led by NATTA President Mr. CN. Pandey visited Managing Director of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), Mr. Sugat Ratna Kansakar and high administrators on August 16, 2018.
NATTA has requested NAC to provide and maintain the quality service and encouraged on initiation for partnership with foreign airlines to increase the capacity of the national flag carrier to develop Nepal tourism sector.
Similarly, as the flights operating to neighboring countries are quiet expensive and NAC has minimal presence in most non-SAARC foreign countries, the delegation urged NAC to expand flight operations to those destinations and bring good number of inbound tourists.
NATTA also pointed out high rates charged by the NAC for domestic flights and its refusal to conduct flights to major tourism destinations, requesting that the national airline charge better rates and provide better service. The delegation also asked NAC to address the issue of flight delays.
The other demand NATTA raised was NAC having weak marketing strategies, could not grab the opportunity, therefore it suggested to have high utilization of new technology having effective positioning in the market.
During the meeting, Mr. Kansakar, Managing Director of NAC expressed confidence to work on all the demand of NATTA as soon as possible.
