Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) organized a Farewell Program in honor of Prof. Dr. Hari Sarmah on 27th August 2017 in Kathmandu. Prof. Sarmah served NATTA as Chief Executive Officer for Eighteen years and Two months and completed his tenure on 15th July 2017.
President of NATTA Mr. Madhu Sudan Acharya conferred upon Prof. Sarmah a Letter of Appreciation and a Cheque. In his remarks, Mr. Acharya expressed his gratitude and thankfulness to Prof. Sarmah for his long continued service with utmost professionalism, perseverance and prudence. He acknowledged that he himself and the organization (NATTA) learnt, from Prof. Sarmah’s erudition, knowledge and skill for the robust functioning of the office. Prof. Sarmah was appreciated for his patience, calmness and readiness to take up responsibility whatsoever and whensoever.
Speaking on the occasion, former Presidents of NATTA: Mr. RR Pandey, Mr. RM Singh, Mr. Rabi Poudel, Mr. Bhola Thapa, Mr. Ram Kaji Koney, Mr. Dhruba Narayan Shrestha and Mr. Arjun Sharma shared their experiences of working with Prof. Sarmah and lauded his patience and maturity while carrying out the given assignments. All of them expressed their full satisfaction in his performance during his over 18 years’ service in NATTA.
Prof. Sarmah, expressing thankfulness for the honor, shared his happiness for being associated with NATTA for such a long time and for the trust shown to him by all the Executive Committees during his almost two decades’ service. He credited NATTA for the experience, exposure and knowledge about tourism he could gain during his professional career. He thanked all Presidents, Office Bearers and Executive Members for the opportunity they bestowed upon him.
First Vice President of NATTA Mr. CN Pandey expressed Vote of Thanks to all dignitaries for their distinct presence to honor Prof. Sarmah while Mr. Bhim Prasad Panta highlighted Prof. Sarmah’s brief biography and moderated the Farewell Program.
