On May 24th 2022, NATTA welcomed the Nepal Government’s recommended Ambassador of Nepal to China, H.E Mr. Bishnu Pukar Shrestha at NATTA Secretariat, Gairidhara.
His Excellency was enlightened about the long history of the cordial relationship between the Embassy of Nepal in China and NATTA. A brief introductory presentation of NATTA showcasing our Association’s glorious history and its past and present tourism promotional activities was shown to enlighten His Excellency about NATTA’s accomplishments in the tourism industry.
Furthermore, issues on matters about mutual support, cooperation and exchange in the area of promoting tourism of both the friendly countries were discussed while highlighting the role of the Embassy in the promotion of Nepalese tourism in China especially post COVID19 scenario. NATTA urged and requested H.E. to open a dedicated Tourism Department at the Embassy to better address tourism promotion and issues faced in China by Nepalese travel agents. He was further requested to lobby for resuming the flights to and from China which have been halted since the start of the pandemic. His Excellency assured of his determination to uphold Nepal-China tourism and offer full co-operation in NATTA’s efforts.
After a long delay, Nepal Government recommended ambassadors for China and other countries. HE Mr. Bishnu Puskar Shrestha has been recognised as a human rights activist. Present in the meeting were President Mr. Ramesh Thapa, Immediate Past President Mr. Achyut Guragain, Senior Vice President, Mr. Pramod Dahal, Vice President Mr. Varun Mehta, Secy. General Mr. Kumar Mani Thapaliya, Secretary Ms. Yubika Bhandari, Treasurer Mr. Raj Kumar Devkota and Executive Members, Mr. Dendi Sherpa, Ms. Shradha Joshi and Mr. Namaraj Betuwal.
