As a part of Skill Development Training to the tourism personnel’s, NATTA organized a one day Digital Marketing Training in coordination with Nepal Tourism Board in all the Provinces of NATTA. The trainings were organized in assistance with a well-known Digital Marketing Specialists to make the Nepalese tourism industrialist become familiar with current knowledge and its trends in digital.
Accommodating 50 plus personnel in the Provinces, First Training was organized in NATTA Province No. 7 (Dhangadhi incorporating Dadeldhura, Kanchanpur) on 29th June, Secondly in NATTA Province No. 1 (Kakadvitta incorporating Dharan, Illam) on 1st July 2019. Another training was in NATTA Province No. 5 (Rupandehi incorporating NATTA Palpa Chapter, Butwal, Lumbini and Bhairahawa) on 3rd July. And lastly the final training was held in Kathmandu (incorporating Kirtipur and Dolakha) on 5th July incorporating 260 personnel from the tourism industry.
In all the Provinces, the program was followed with similar modus operandi and lasted for a whole day. The participants seemed really interested and encouraged with the trainings. Along with the training, trainers not only interacted with the participants but also answered their curiosities.
Secretary General of NATTA, Mr. Ramesh Thapa had been nominated as Coordinator for the Training Programs.
NATTA has been frequently organizing such kinds of Skill Development Training and yet more training programs have been designed in the coming days. NATTA believes that, from these kinds of training, members will be updated with latest changes and be benefited by upgrading their personal working capability in the up-liftment of tourism industry.
NATTA also believes this will be highly instrumental in campaign of Visit Nepal Year 2020 and facilitating in making the country digitalized. The information on each province are as:
NATTA Province No. 7 (Dhangadhi)
Accommodating 67 participants, NATTA in coordination with NTB had the first opening of Digital Marketing Training Program at Hotel Sorahi, Dhangadhi on 29th June 2019.
The program was inaugurated by Chief Guest of the Program, Hon’ble Ms. Maya Bhatta, Tourism Minister of Province No.7. Likewise FNCCI Member, Ms. Kalpana Gaire, represent from HAN were also present in the program. The program was chaired by NATTA Province No. 7, President Mr. Maya Prakash Bhatta.
Speaking at the program, Chief Guest Hon’ble Ms. Maya Bhatta praised for such kind of programs as nation is working for Visit Nepal Year 2020 and was assured that this could benefit in the campaign. Hon’ble Minister was also assured that this could also help in economic development of the country.
Giving a brief highlight about the training, Secretary General & Coordinator of the Training Mr. Ramesh Thapa also stressed in the need of the digitalization. The current technology gives us the advantage to work from our mobile these days so we need to be highly updated to compete with the industry.
The Digital Marketing Training, trained by Mr. Prashun Shakya lasted from 10 am – 6 pm. The program had the participation of tourism professionals from Dadeldhura, Attariya, Mahendranagar.
At the end of the session, the program was ended with felicitation speech by Chief Secretary and Vote of Thanks by NATTA President of Province 7, Mr. Maya Prakash Bhatta. Mr. Maya Prakash Bhatta expressed his delight in organizing such training for the first time in Dhangadhi in cooperation with NTB and all NATTA Provinces. Mr. Bhatta insisted to organize such trainings for more than one day with facilitation of more information sooner. And lastly he thanked Nepal Tourism Board, NATTA Central and Coordinator of this Training Program.
The token of Appreciation was felicitated to the guests present in the program and all the participants were distributed a framed Certificate.
In the program, NATTA Central was represented by Executive Member Ms. Inu Thapa. Nepal Tourism Board was represented by Officer, Ms. Sushila Kumari Baral.
NATTA Province No. 1 (Bhadrapur)
The second training session of Digital Marketing Training started exactly at 10 am at Hotel Krishna International at Bhadrapur on 1st July 2019. The Chief Guest of the program was Mr. Jeevan Shrestha, Mayor of Bhadrapur and the program was chaired by President of NATTA Province No. 1, Mr. Bhupal Raj Shrestha. Chief Guest Mr. Jeevan Shrestha on the occasion congratulated all the participants and organizing members for this noble initiation in making the country digitalized and encouraged to organize more of such programs in the future.
At the program, NATTA Secretary General and Training Coordinator Mr. Ramesh Thapa welcomed all the participants and elaborated on this training program. Mr. Thapa insisted on requirements of such kinds of training as such training would make the hassles of the todays work time consuming and respond instantly.
The whole day Digital Marketing Training was, trained by Mr. Manish Amagain. The program had the total participation number of 50 tourism professionals from Illam, Biratnagar, Dharan, Kakadvitta and Dharan.
At the end of the session, the program was ended with felicitation speech by Senior Vice President, Mr. Achyut Sharma Guragain where Mr. Guragain emphasized on the need of the digitalization in tourism industry for the advancement of the country.
The vote of Thanks was given by NATTA President of Province 1, Mr. Bhupal Raj Shrestha. Mr. Bhupal thanked the initiation of NATTA Central and NTB for such training program and requested more of Skill Development trainings to organize for Province No.1.
NATTA Province No. 5 (Bhairahawa)
Digital Marketing Training Program, an initiation of NATTA and with support of Nepal Tourism Board, the program had been accomplished in two destinations previously (Dhangadhi and Bhadrapur)
The third training session of Digital Marketing Training was held at Land of Buddha, at Hotel Nance, Bhairahawa on 3rd July 2019. The Chief Guest of the program was Mr. Arjun Lal Shrestha, Chief District Officer of Bhairahawa and the program was chaired by President of NATTA Province No. 5, Mr. Bishnu Sharma.
Chief Guest Mr. Arjun Lal Shrestha thanked all the organizing members for organizing such type of training keeping it updated with the existing technology. Mr. Shrestha also assured his support for the tourism industry as it is one of the most market generator in the country.
President of NATTA Central, Mr. CN Pandey welcoming all the guests and participants at the program stressed on the need of digitalization of country. Comparing to other countries, our country still needs to improvise and try to generate the economy through the use of technologies in the country. Also Mr. Pandey stated that this program also could be useful for the campaign of VNY 2020.
Highlighting about the program, NATTA Secretary General and Training Coordinator Mr. Ramesh Thapa insisted that the country should be paperless and follow the current trend to make it time consuming as the industry can also promote their products via social media or website besides printing them.
Like in the previous destinations, the program started with inauguration, training and ended with closing session.
The whole day long Training was, trained by Mr. Prashun Shakya. The program had the total participation number of 58 tourism professionals from Palpa, Butwal and Bhairahawa.
At the end of the session, the vote of Thanks was given by NATTA President of Province 5, Mr. Bishnu Sharma. Mr. Bishnu Sharma thanked all the concerned organizations for making such kind of program a success and expressed his confidence that other organization shall also be aware and motivated to organize Skill Development programs.

NATTA Province No. 3 (Kathmandu)
After successfully running the Digital Marketing Training at Dhangadhi, Bhadrapur and Bhairahawa the Training finally concluded at Kathmandu on 5th July 2019 at Kathmandu Marriott Hotel. The Digital Marketing Training in Kathmandu was inaugurated by Under Secretary Mr. Suresh Acharya by watering the plants. Mr. Acharya felicitating in the program well-informed the addressees that the number of tourists will increase twofold by 2030 according to the World Tourism Organization in each countries. And for this we have to be updated and formulate the current technologies and readdress the tourism policies.
Likewise welcoming all the participants and invitees, President of NATTA, Mr. CN Pandey said that the tourism industry should leave behind the traditional strategies and now it is necessary to move towards the digitalization world.
After the inauguration program, the training was started exactly on time where the participants all showed their enthusiasm.
The first session of the program was compered by Coordinator and Secy. General Mr. Ramesh Thapa. In delivering the words as an MC, Secretary General and Program Coordinator Mr. Thapa said: “In Digital Marketing, we advertise our product and services in national and international level through the digital channels such as search engine, websites, social media, email, mobile apps. Etc. Going back to Google’s age, in 1971 AD Roy Tomlinson used an email for the first time and since there is no one to use email, he sent email to himself. From that time to now, because of the change in technology and minimization of cost it brought to the business world, we must feel ourselves very lucky. Technological progress in last 2 decades has brought the increment in the rate of advertising through digital channel by significant number every year. So if we could also digitalize our product and services, it will reach to the maximum people and the Nepal Government’s aim of welcoming 2 million tourists in 2020 can be achieved. The main aim of this training is to make our members aware about latest changes in the digital world and make them friendly with it to advertise their product and services through digital channels.”
The Training held in Kathmandu had the representation of tourism professionals from Dolakha and Kirtipur. This one day long training had the participation of more than 260 number of represents from Airlines, Hoteliers, Tour Operators and tourism associations.
NATTA had circulated the request of participants to various tourism associations such as HAN, TAAN, NATO, SOTTO, NARA and other associations.
Similarly, after the Training session was completed, the closing session was held where Director General of MoCTCA Mr. Dandu Raj Ghimire and Senior Director of Nepal Tourism Board Ms. Nandini Lahe Thapa were present in the session. All the Guests along with the Trainers were presented with Token of Appreciation.
The Vote of Thanks was given by Senior Vice President, Mr. Achyut Sharma Guragain. At the Session, three participants from Kirtipur, Dolakha and Kathmandu were presented a Certificate.
All the participants were given a Certificate as a part of the Appreciation at the end of the Program.
