Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) convened a joint-meeting with newly elected NATTA Executive Committee on Thursday, 18th February 2016 at Arc Meeting Room of Hotel Annapurna, Durbar Marg, Kathmandu. The meeting was well attended by the Managing Director, Mr. Sugat Ratna Kansakar and other Directors of the corporation including the Corporate Director Mr. Ram Hari Sharma and Commercial Director CA Mr. Janak Raj Kalakheti. The NATTA Executive Committee was accorded a warm welcome by the Managing Director of NAC and other officials present. Speaking on the occasion Managing Director Mr. Kansakar said that it has been a long practiced tradition at NAC to welcome and Greet the new NATTA Executive Committee. It is in this joint meeting that we formulate our future activities to be carried out together for the betterment of the travel fraternity, he said and added that NAC was now set forth to add two additional wide-bodied aircrafts to cater to the demand of the market.
Speaking on behalf of the NATTA Executive team, President Mr. Madhu Sudan Acharya thanked the NAC for having organized this meeting in honor of his team in the NATTA Board and said that as airlines and travel agents are complimentary to each other it wouldn’t benefit either of us if we intend to work in isolation. NATTA has had a wonderful understanding with NAC in the past and it looks forward for better and more productive days ahead by working together in tandem. Mr. Acharya also hinted that NATTA would be requesting the NAC Executives for a separate meeting where NATTA would propose a set of points as MOU.
Chairman of NATTA Aviation Committee Mr. Binay Basnet drew the attention of the NA officials by raising the issues of:
Capping – There should not be blocking of capping if there is no mail from IATA regarding any payment default.
Authorization to Agents to Re issue and revalidation.
Void – Regulate misuses and there should be differences between genuine and intentional misuses.
System upgradation.
China flight – Priorities for sales mission – NATTA
Promotional fare for inbound tourists, group, MART, conferences.
Promote Regional conferences, seminars, workshop
Group fare – Directly not to corporate houses.
