NEPAL ASSOCIATION OF TOUR & TRAVEL AGENTS (NATTA),in conjunction with KATHMANDU METROPOLIS (KMC) and NEPAL TOURISM BOARD (NTB) organised a Haif-Day Seminar on “Problems in the Conservation of Nepalese Heritage Sites and the Measures to Eliminate them” on 26th June,2012 in the auditorium of NTB. Dr Shaphalya Amatya former Director General of Department of Archeologypresented a working paper which was commented on by former TourismSecretary and Governer of Central Bank of Nepal(NRB) Mr. Dipendra Purush Dhakal,Mr Ram kunwar a senior officer and Mr. Hari Kumar Shestha,Senior officer form Heritage Division(KMC)More then 150 participants belonging to various tourism related associations including the ActingMayor and CEO of Kathmandu Metropolis.Bhaktapur municipality and representatives from Nepal Heritage Society and media houses were pressent on the occasion and they activety participationed in the workshop.It was agreed that a sense of ownership among the locals has to be established to conserve the heritage sites and the theme of responsible action along with responsible tourism need to be further strengthenedMr Pavitra Kumar Karki,President of NATTA chaired the working ression and Mr Shyam Madan K.C., the cordinator of NATTA HeritageCommittee voted thanks to all the participants and co-organisers.
