NATTA in coordination with Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) led a group of twenty one Nepalese tourism stakeholders comprising of tour operators, trekking agencies and hoteliers to participate in the Sales Mission Program in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The B2B exchange programme and Nepal Evening Program was organized on 23rd November at Hotel Sarina, Dhaka. During the B2B program with the Nepalese participants, there were several local travel/tour operators of Bangladesh. The program had been a forum for Nepalese travel and tourism businesses to showcase their products, network, local contacts and negotiate business deals. In the evening, Nepal Evening Program was organized inviting all the travel agents, tour operators, national/regional tourist organizations, government tourism departments, GDS, hotel resorts, adventure tourism, airlines etc.
Starting with the welcome speech by Mr. Kumar Rai, Chief of Mission, Embassy of Nepal in Bangladesh, he assured the tour operators that the Embassy will extend all possible supports for tourism promotion of Nepal in Bangladesh. A Nepal Presentation was made by Mr. Kashi Ram Bhandari from Nepal Tourism Board showcasing Nepal and Nepalese products. Likewise, Delegations from Bangladesh spoke about their affection for the country Nepal and discussed cross-border and regional tourism prospects with a concentrated focus specifically on the exchange of the potentials, experience, knowledge and challenges of the tourism sector. President of NATTA Mr. Achyut Guragain gave a felicitation speech on mutual relation between two countries and assured of NATTA’s support in any cooperation in any of the endeavours in promotion of tourism. A Lucky Draw program was organized for the travel agents of Bangladesh who participated in the event. The lucky draw was done based on the visiting card dropped during the Registration. Prizes were 3 Nights/4 Days Package in Nepal on 3, 4 and 5 star category hotels.
Representatives and high officials of the Bangladesh Tourism Board, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh, Nepal Embassy in Bangladesh, Biman Bangladesh Airlines Chief Executive Officer, Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB), Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC), Former President, Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB), President, Bangladesh Outbound Tour Operators Association (BOTOA), President, BD Inbound, Chairman, PATA Bangladesh Chapter, President, Tourist Guide Association of Bangladesh (TGAB); Biman Bangladesh Airlines; Himalaya Airlines, Different media houses graced the occasion with their presence.
The event ended on a high note with the hope of better bilateral relations between the two countries and a promise to enable more cooperative initiatives to promote tourism. The main event was followed by a Cocktail dinner for the guests.
Later the day, NATTA and NTB Delegation visited the Embassy of Nepal, Bangladesh for a Lunch Meeting. Chief of Mission Mr. Kumar Rai communicated about lots of Nepal and Bangladesh affairs and assured of his full support for the tourism endeavours.
NATTA had nominated NATTA Treasurer Mr. Kumar Mani Thapaliya as a Coordinator and Executive Member Mr. Bharat Jung Pandey to sub coordinate the Mission in Dhaka. However, due to unavoidable circumstances, both the Coordinators could not participate in the event in Dhaka. Therefore, Ms. Shradha Chhetri, Officiating CEO of NATTA was assigned to coordinate and Mrs. Laxmi Karki Adhikari to sub coordinate the participation of the program. The Mission was led by NATTA President, Mr. Achyut Guragain.
BRIEFING OF SALES MISSION IN DHAKA
In giving insight to the participants regarding Nepal Sales Mission in Dhaka, Briefing Session with participants along with NTB officials was held at Nepal Tourism Board on 19th November 2021. The meeting was held to discuss the details about Mission and certain norms to be applied during the participation. During the session, several opinions were discussed and shared to make the event more effective.
DEBRIEFING OF DHAKA
A Debriefing meeting of the delegates who participated in the Nepal Sales Mission in Dhaka 2021 held at Dhaka, Bangladesh was held at Fresh Elements Restaurant in the afternoon, 23rd February 2022.
The participants expressed their appreciation to NATTA for successful coordination of Nepal’s participation in the Sales Mission. With the more than 14 Nepalese tourism stakeholders NATTA organized the participation in the Sales Mission. In the conclusion of Debriefing, President Mr. Achyut Guragain thanked NTB, and everyone in the delegation for their effort to make this participation a very fruitful one.
