NATTA celebrated the World Tourism Day -2020 this year with the major programs on the WTD-2020 theme Tourism and Rural Development.
BLOOD DONATION
NATTA 9th Blood Donation Program was organized at the premises of Goma Ganesh Temple at Naxal on 25th September, ’16 from 10 am – 2 pm. Humanitarian gesture at the event was shown by the members of NATTA, and other generous people. About 35 people donated blood on the occasion.
HERITAGE CLEANING AT BUDHANILKANTHA
NATTA in association with Budhanilkantha Municipality on the occasion of 41st World Tourism Day organized a Heritage Cleaning Program in Budhanilkantha on 26th September 2020.
This novel initiative was inaugurated together by Mayor of Budhanilkantha Municipality Mr. Uddhav Kharel and President of NATTA, Mr. Achyut Guragain.
Joined by NATTA Members and associates of NATTA, the cleaning program was prepared in and around Budhanilkantha temple premises. The objective of the program was to clean the heritage sites having the importance of heritage preservation as well as celebrating World Tourism Day with such Awareness program.
NATTA also presented a Token of Appreciation with Khada to Mayor Mr. Uddhav Kharel as gratitude.
The 41st World Tourism Day Programs was coordinated by Executive Member Mr. Dendi Sherpa and sub coordinated by Secretary Ms. Jiswan Tuladhar Shrestha along with Executive Board Members.
WEBINAR ON RESTARTING TOURISM WITH SAFETY
With already 7 months into the effect of COVID-19 on Travel and Hospitality Industry, the majority of businesses in this sector are desperate to reopen and begin operating under the new normal. In an attempt to facilitate the process of the reopening of the tourism industry of Nepal and on the occasion of the celebration of World Tourism Day, the webinar: Restarting Tourism with Safety, was organised by NATTA in partnership with Sabre Travel Network.
The webinar had the Speakers, Mr. Rajan Pokhrel, Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Dr. Dhananjaya Regmi, CEO of Nepal Tourism Board, Mr. Rakesh Narayanan, Vice President of Asia Pacific, Travel Solutions Airlines from Sabre, Mr. Sandeep Shastri, Regional Director, South Asia, Travel Solutions from Sabre moderated by President of NATTA, Mr. Achyut Guragain. Mr. Sunil Kumar Rumalla, President of UFTAA had the appearance as the Special Speaker in the Webinar.
The program had the discussion and consideration on how to reopen the businesses, the challenges, solutions and preparedness to reopen the tourism industry for a better future. It will help to understand the Government of Nepal’s future planning and world’s practise to open Tourism along with approaches to promote Tourism and Aviation Industry of Nepal.
The Webinar on Restarting Tourism with Safety had been coordinated by Senior Vice President Mr. Binay Basnet.
