The first and introductory meeting of NATTA Media and Publicity committee was held at NATTA Secretariat chaired by Secretary General and Chairman of the Committee Mr. Bhim Prasad Panta. The meeting basically focused on what NATTA and the newly formed committee can perform in development of tourism by developing the strategies. The committee comprises of Mr. Devi Prasad Panta, Mr. Shiva Adhikari, Mr. Sarad Pradhan, Mr. Mukunda Dhungana, Mr. Suman Kattel, Mr. Subas Khatiwada, Ms. Sharada Thapa, Mr. Raju Baskota, Mr. Bikash Lohani and Mr. Sangam Prasai.

NTB Directors representing private sector in NTB Board of Directors, Mr. Rajendra Sapkota and Mr. Purna Bahadur Kunwar called on the Secretariat of Nepal Association of Tour & Travel Agents (NATTA) on 09th May, 2016 in the afternoon and held discussions with President NATTA Mr. Madhu Sudan Acharya and NATTA Executive Committee on various aspects of challenges being faced by the private sector in carrying out the promotional plans, programs, campaigns and missions abroad from Nepal from time to time due to all pervasive absolute red-tapism. Hon’ble Minister KP Oli had invited all the members of the organizing Committee of 2560th Buddha Jayanti Celebration and International Bouddha Summit going to be held in Kathmandu and Lumbini from 19th through 21st May, 2016 at Prime Minister’s Residence in Baluwatar on Monday, 9th May 2016. Secy. Gen. Mr. Bhim Prasad Panta participated in a workshop on Role of Nepal Airlines in the Development of Tourism Sector on 08th May, 2016 at Hotel Hardik, Bagbazar. The workshop, graced by Hon’ble Minister for Culture, Tourism & Civil Aviation Mr. Anand Prasad Poudyal, was organized under the aegis of Public Enterprises Employees’ Association of Nepal to mark their 27th Anniversary of establishment. Secy. Gen. Mr. Panta, speaking on the occasion said that Nepal Airlines (NA) needs to gain the trust of public. The state must protect NA by assisting it in securing additional fleets. NATTA, Mr. Panta added, would always stand by NA in the process of its further development as ever. If necessary the state may also endeavor to change the current structure of NA into a company.
An interactive program followed by presentation of three working papers on the various issues of foreign employment was organized by Labour & Employment Ministry on Monday, the 20th Baishakh, 2073 at Hotel Radisson. The program was held in the august presence of Hon’ble Minister for Labor & Employment Deepak Bohara. The three working papers presented on the occasion were from Nepal Rastra Bank, Ministry of Labor & Employment and the Association of Foreign Employment Association respectively. As NATTA is being actively involved in the preparations of 2560th Buddha Jayanti Celebration and Int’l Bouddha Summit in conjunction with Government of Nepal (GON) and fellow associations going to be held in Lumbini from 19th May through 21st May 2016. In this regard, the 3rd meeting of 101 organizing committee members was held at Nepal Tourism Board chaired by MOCTCA on 27th April 2016. NATTA Secretary General Mr. Bhim Prasad Panta and Executive Member Mr. Ram Kumar Barakoti participated in an interactive session on Eco-Tourism organized by the office of Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park under Government of Nepal, Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation. The program was held at Hotel Marshyangdi, Thamel on Wednesday, the 27th April, 2016. Besides NATTA, representatives from NTB, HAN and TAAN were also present. Speaking on the occasion NATTA Secretary General said that NATTA would always stand by in the efforts of the organizers to make Shivapuri National Park an attractive destination for the tourists. He requested the Shivapuri National Park Authority to let NATTA know what they should do for the development of the park. Mr. Panta also suggested to hold the next meeting in the Park vicinity.

Ms. Shital Sharma Poudel, the NATTA coordinator of Nepal China Sales Mission convened a debriefing meeting of thE participants of Nepal China Sales Mission 2016 on Friday, 22nd April at Nepali Bhojan, Lazimpat. The mission had ended successfully on 19th April, 2016 after running sales mission programs in Beijing, Hangzhou, Shanghai and Chengdu. There were 29 Nepalese tourism entrepreneurs, who had joined the sales mission to China on 9th April, 2016. Director of Nepal Tourism Board, Mr. Sunil Sharma was in the Mission all through. Most of the participants of the Mission suggested the NATTA Board to review the model of B2B and Press Meet and General question answer sessions. It was unanimously agreed that the mission should focus mainly on promoting packages and showcase the destination as a whole. The debriefing meeting was hosted and sponsored by Nepali Bhojan.
NATOJ organized an interaction program concerning the damages that hindered to the tourism industry caused by massive earthquake on April 25 2015. The interaction program was held to lessen the imprecise news on Nepal that directly or indirectly hampered its tourism industry. The program was attended by NATTA Secretary General Mr. Bhim Prasad Panta as a guest and on behalf of NATTA, he presented his views that the government should promptly initiate the renovations of the heritage sites in peril.
