NATTA Biennial Executive Elections

NATTA upholds a cherished six-decade tradition of transparent, democratic elections held every two years during its General Convention. The entire election process is overseen by an autonomous, high-level Election Commission composed of respected legal counsel and veteran tourism leaders.

All general member agencies in good standing (with active annual renewal status) possess the democratic right to contest for leadership portfolios and vote for the Central Executive Board.

  • Active General Membership status with annual dues cleared.
  • Valid Tourism Department & Company Registrar licenses.
  • Official company authorization letter for the designated voter.

Key Stages of the Election Process

Preliminary Voter List & Claims

Publication of eligible voter agencies by the Secretariat. Time window provided for membership renewal, document updates, and claims/objections.

Final Voter Register

Release of the finalized voter roll by the Independent Election Commission. Only certified authorized representatives can cast ballots.

Filing of Candidate Nominations

Submission of nomination forms for President, Senior VP, VP, General Secretary, Secretary, Treasurer, Joint Treasurer, and Executive Members.

Scrutiny & Withdrawal Window

Verification of candidate eligibility, scrutiny of proposing/seconding members, publication of verified list, and voluntary withdrawal period.

Voting & Vote Counting

Democratic secret-ballot voting during the Annual General Convention under the supervision of the Election Commission and observers.

Declaration & Oath of Office

Official announcement of election results, issuance of certificates of election, and formal oath-taking ceremony for the incoming Executive Committee.

Election Code of Conduct

All candidates must be active members in good standing for at least 2 consecutive years.
No candidate shall hold any political office simultaneously.
Campaigning is restricted to official channels approved by the Election Commission.
Any form of vote-buying, bribery, or intimidation results in immediate disqualification.
All campaign materials must be factually accurate and free of defamatory content.
Candidates must disclose any conflicts of interest before the election date.
