As with the current development of online portals of esewa, khalti and others, it is making quiet difficult for travel agencies to have a business. Those portals have been issuing tickets and facilitating the individuals as the normal travel agencies deliver.
To discuss on this regard, a meeting was held at NATTA Secretariat on 9th July 2019 with members chaired by Coordinator of Domestic Airlines & Promotion Subcommittee, Mrs. Sabita Bhattarai K.C. The participants of the meeting shared their concerns and difficulties due to the current portals.
The meeting concluded with a decision to put forward this issue to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).
As the letter notifying about this issue has already been sent to Department of Tourism of MoCTCA. It has also been decided to lobby with the Department over again.
On the meeting, NATTA Vice President Ms. Sangita Jirel Bade, Secretary General Mr. Ramesh Thapa and Executive Member Ms. Debaki Gurung and NATTA Members; Travel Light, Magnificent Travel, Rasbita Travel, Himal Reisen, Moonlake Travel had attended the meeting.
