NATTA 51ST Annual general meeting and election of new executive committee held

T he 51 st Annual General Meeting (AGM) & the Election of NATTA’s new Executive Committee were held on Friday, 13 th January, 2018 in Kathmandu amidst the gathering of NATTA Members, former Presidents and representatives from tourism associations of Nepal.

President Mr. Madhusudan Acharya welcomed all the distinguished guests and highlighted the activities of NATTA. Highlighting the successful completion of Golden Jubilee Inaugural and Closing Ceremony, formation of Past Presidents' Council, participation in UFTAA Board as a Director, MOU with different international associations, Nepal Promotion programs in countries were the major focus in his deliberation. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Acharya focused, in an aim of bringing 5 million tourists by 2030, without the support of government in making necessary arrangement in infrastructure development and coordination of tourism associations it's not possible to achieve the target.

In the session, Mr. Birendra Bahadur Basnet, Managing Director of Buddha Air and Mr. Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa, Executive Chairman of Yeti Airlines were specially honored with Plaque of Appreciation for their exemplary contribution to tourism promotion in Nepal. Similarly, Lalima Travels Pvt. Ltd., Shiva Travels Pvt. Ltd., Osho Travel Nepal Pvt. Ltd. and Suruchi Travels & Tours Pvt. Ltd. were honored with NATTA 25 Years' Excellence Award.

On the same occasion, NATTA Secretary General, Mr. Bhim Prasad Panta presented annual report while NATTA Western Regional Association President Mr. Dilli Prasad Gautam, NATTA Eastern Regional Association President Mr. Hemraj Bastola, and NATTA Far Western Regional Association President Mr. Maya Prakash Bhatta highlighted their endeavors in the promotion of tourism.

Speaking at the open floor session, NATTA Members expressed their views and suggestions for the betterment of NATTA.

CN PANDEY ELECTED NATTA PRESIDENT

Mr. CN Pandey has been elected as the president of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) during the 51 st Annual General Meeting of NATTA held on Friday, 13 th January, 2018 in Kathmandu.

Mr. Achyut Sharma Guragain, Mrs. Sangita jirel Bade, Mr. Ramesh Thapa, Mrs. Sabita Bhattarai K.C, Mr. Ram Prasad Shrestha and Mr. Surendra Bhattarai are the newly elected 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary General, Secretary, Treasurer and Joint Treasurer respectively. Similarly, Mr. Furi Geljen Sherpa, Ms. Geeta Dhakal, Mr. Raju Dhakal, Ms. Inu Thapa, Mr. Ramesh Paudel, Mr. Sudarshan Nepal, Mr. Amrit Kumar Dhakal and Ms. Debaki Gurung have been elected as Executive Committee Members.

In addition, the first Board Meeting of the new NATTA Executive Committee held on 14 th January 2018 nominated Mr. Shree Ram Pandey and Mr. Hem Raj Bastola as new EC Members for the year 2018-2020.
