Tourism Recovery: Moving Forward Together
In the wake of the recent Bhotekoshi and Trishuli floods, the Government of Nepal, together with tourism sector stakeholders, has initiated important steps toward the recovery and rehabilitation of Nepal’s tourism sector.

A coordinated meeting brought together representatives from the government and various tourism associations, including NATTA President Mr. Bharat Jung Pandey, to discuss immediate response measures and long-term recovery strategies.

Key priorities include:

🔹 Detailed assessment of damage to tourism businesses in affected areas
🔹 Development of a coordinated Tourism Recovery Cycle
🔹 Restoration of road and trekking connectivity
🔹 Construction of Bailey bridges in necessary areas of the Langtang region
🔹 Alternative routes to maintain access to affected destinations
🔹 Regular and reliable road-condition updates for tourists
🔹 Exploring alternative border access for Kailash–Mansarovar pilgrims
🔹 Strengthening international communication to provide accurate information about Nepal’s tourism situation

The meeting also emphasized an important message: while certain areas have been affected by the floods, many destinations across Nepal remain safe, operational, and ready to welcome visitors.

NATTA remains committed to working closely with the Government of Nepal, Nepal Tourism Board, and fellow tourism associations to support recovery, restore confidence, and ensure the continued resilience of Nepal’s tourism industry.

Together, we can rebuild, recover, and keep Nepal moving forward.
